Holy journey: Council of Torah Sages will depart for Europe

gdolei Yisroel, members of the Torah Sages Council will embark on Wednesday on a journey of prayers in the city of Vilna, with the tomb of the Vilna Gaon at its height.

Gedolei Yisroel are going out in the days prior to Rosh Hashanah, to plead and pray for the donors of 'Kupat Hair', personally, for each name in detail by his personal request, and this year, anyone who wants can join at a cost of NIS 2600. Some of Gedolei Yisroel will be joined by their wives too.

Participating in the journey are: Hagaon Rabbi Aryeh Finkel, Hagaon Rabbi Yitzchak Scheiner, Hagaon Rabbi Baruch Dov Povarski, Hagaon Rabbi Dov Yaffe, Hagaon Rabbi Baruch Mordechai Ezrahi, Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Schlesinger and Hagaon Rabbi David Cohen. They will also be joined by Hagaon Rabbi Shmuel Yaakov Borenstein, Hagaon Rabbi Mordechai Gross, Hagaon Rabbi Sender Erlanger and the Kabbalist Hagaon Rabbi Shimon Galai.

Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman even expressed himself that if he had the strength, he himself would also travel to this sacred place.

Prayers will be held at the tomb of the Gra in Vilna cemetery, when in addition some members of the delegation will also continue to Lithuania and Belarus, to the tombs of R' Chaim Ozer Gordzinsky, and R' Boruch Behr Leibowitz in Vilna, the tomb of R' Yitzchok Elchonon Spector in Kovna, rabbis of Dvinsk - the "Ohr Sameach" and "Tzofnas Pa'aneach", the Chofetz Chaim's grave in the town of Radin, the tomb of the Beis Halevy in Brisk, the tombs of the Yesod Veshoresh Ha'avodah and R' Shimon Schkop in Grodno, the Aruch Hashulchan in Novardok, the grave of Rabbi Yeruham of Mir, and the tomb of founder of yeshivos, Rabbi Chaim of Volozhin near the Volozhin yeshiva.

During the trip, the participants undertake a complete 'ta'anis dibur', and hear the awakening speeches by Gedolei Yisroel who head the trip.
