Ministry of Education ordered to close the school for girls in Beit Shemesh opened today (Monday), in a secular school compound 'Cultures and Languages'.
The Ministry of Education says that the haredi institution operated illegally and the Beit Shemesh municipality snatched when it opened a few days before the start of the school year.
According to the office the municipality was offered to enable the school in an alternative structure, but it rejected the offer.
Israeli police arrested this morning the Beit Shemesh Councilman Richard Peres, for spraying graffiti on a partition installed by the municipality, which separates the students of Cultures and Languages school and haredi girl students.
He wrote on the fence "separation fence" and "Shame to Zionism" and using a hammer damaged the fence erected in the schoolyard.
With accordance to the city's decision to allowed haredi students inside the school, a plaster partition was built between parts of the school. Parents of students protested in place.
One of the teachers was lightly injured. A school security guard was summoned for questioning.
Beit Shemesh municipality said in response that the haredi students live in the neighborhood, and the municipality must take care of a place worthy of study for all students of the city across all sectors.
