Brother of Baal Hatanya Reb Moshe zy"a, passed away and was buried in Rodney, Russia, over the years under communist rule had almost no Jews lived there, a woman from the area has taken on the burden of guarding the cemetery where the Tzaddik is buried.

Members of the Ohalei Tzaddikim Association – Geder Avoth, headed by Rabbi Yisrael Meir Gabbai, came to the city in order to identify and find the tombs of the righteous whom had passed away. Recently, after trying to talk to the local people, Rabbi Gabbai was turned to the street where the was a cemetery in the past, and the woman who lives in one of the houses has information concerning the cemetrey.

The woman initially refused to cooperate, but Rabbi Gabbai did not give up and tried to talk to her about this and that and eventually the woman agreed to tell that her mother who died a few years ago guarded the Jewish cemetery, and showed him the place where he was most recently and locals tried to take over the part, uprooted tombstones and built houses at the edge of the cemetery. During the conversation the woman told that her son works for the towns water company, saying to her that there was an explosion in one of the tubes on the cemetery, and when they replaced new tube they found bones and body parts, the son of the woman, who knew his mother has a connection to the cemetery, came to her and consulted on religion facts, and she told him to bury them where found.

Members of the Association took the remaining bones and buried them in the area of the cemetery, and then started trying to get permission to fence off the area and set a tomb at the site. But the local municipality has other plans, and refused to cooperate and would not allow the activists to work in place nor build monument.

One day, while Rabbi Yisrael Meir Gabbai and activists around the site, looked out from the slopes of the cemetery and saw a man who looks like a Jew, then they walked up to him and asked him to help them set up a monument, the man who holds the same cabin lodge vacation home elsewhere agreed to cooperate and began to build monuments at his home state, and after it ready took them out to the cemetery. Thus, as the representative underground, put up a monument that tells in this cemetery lays the Baal Hatanya.

The Association hopes they will succeed, and soon attain the fence budget approvals for the cemetery area and erect a more honorable monument.
