Disaster in Gaza Envelope: 4-year-old was killed by a mortar shell

Unspeakable tragedy inGaza vicinity, shortly before Shabbat: Four year old boy was critically wounded by shrapnel from a mortar shell which exploded in one of the settlements in the western Negev, and he was pronounced dead a short while later.
A police spokesman said that "falling locality field Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, the community, killing four year old child was killed and injured another man. Likewise a fire broke out in these moments and caused extensive damage to buildings and cars."
MDA Director General Eli Bin said: "I visited the area, as soon as I got my team and started to take care of a child who was in critical condition. During treatment rockets were thrown at us. Unfortunately we determined his death."

Last night, at about 20:00, Negev MDA received a call concerning a pedestrian who was hit by a private vehicle whilst apparently running to protected space, on Moshe Dayan Street. MDA who arrived at the scene gave the seriously injured man medical care following a head injury and was taken to hospital.
Zahi Ben-Yishai, a senior medic with MDA and paramedic who treated the wounded man Eliezer Assouline: "middle of the road, 40-year old man was lying semi-conscious and bleeding from his head. People there told us that upon hearing the siren he ran off a bus to take cover and was hit by a passing vehicle. We gave him medical care at the area that included fixation dressings and giving him fluids and evacuated to medical treatment in the hospital when he was semi-conscious and in serious condition. "
During the 46-day campaign, Preventive Edge, MDA provided care to -707 civilians, including three killed by shrapnel and another 24 who were hit by shrapnel at various levels: 6 injured in serious condition, four seriously injured and 14 slightly injured as a result of shrapnel. Additionally, MDA treated 12 people who were injured as a result of broken glass, and from collapsed buildings, 18 injured by car accidents that occurred during sirens are in critical condition and the rest lightly and medium, 136 injuries resulting from blows and falls on the way to protected space 505 people suffering from anxiety.
