Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, referred to reports in Israel, according to which Hamas cells were planning a coup in the PA by a series of terrorist attacks, saying, "We uncovered information which constitutes a serious threat to the unity of the Palestinians and their future."
In the afternoon (Monday) it was cleared for publication that the Shin Bet and the IDF revealed a plan according to which Hamas headquarters in Turkey was planning to overthrow the Palestinian Authority by a broad military infrastructure of the organization that operated in Jerusalem and the West Bank. According to the plan which was halted, the Hamas infrastructure was supposed to carry out attacks in Israel and destabilize the security situation in the West Bank, already during the Solid Rock operation, in order to open a "second front" against Israel.
Following the publication, Abbas instructed the relevant authority factors to try and collect all the necessary information that will help in exposing the details of the issue. "Implications of the issue on the Palestinian and regional situation will be severe, especially after Israeli officials have published a list and pictures of confiscated weapons."
The infrastructure, in order to build a military force, was based on the organizational infrastructure of Hamas, was assisted by Jordan arena front, and a set of messengers, through whom terrorist funds were deployed by more than two million NIS, which were used to purchase weapons and safe houses.
As part of the infrastructure exposure, 93 Hamas activists were arrested, of whom 46 were interrogated by the Shin Bet, Hamas terrorist funds of more than NIS 600,000 were forfeited, and a variety of weapons including 24 rifles, six handguns, seven rocket launchers, cartridges and much ammunition were confiscated.
