Stir in Haredi public: cheap flights sting

Advertisements published in the Haredi press in recent weeks, heralded the sale of cheap tickets by an airline from the Far East.

According to reports, tickets are sold at discounted prices especially for the Haredi public. But a test done by Behadrey Haredim indicates that this is probably a trickery – about which a complaint has been filed with the police and those who ordered, instead of getting a cheap ticket, put their money on the antler.

The ad reads the name of Cathay Pacific Airlines, one of the most prestigious in the world, which does not fly at all to Israel. But the ad said that the flights will be performed by partner companies that fly directly to Israel. The one who represents the airline in Israel is Tal Aviation, which denied any connection to the publication in question.

The ad is offering special deals on airline tickets abroad, which are actually a scam. Behadrey Haredim learned that the sting agent asks some of his customers for the money in cash, and occasionally changes mobile numbers, so that one can not get it back.

Travel agents we spoke with recommended to all those in fear of buying a problematic ticket, to cancel the credit card transaction until pending further clarification on the matter.

Lately a number of complaints were filed with the police, after a group of rogues fooled a famous Yeshiva in selling it a safe for the ark.

Two months ago they advertised the sale of fictitious tickets as well as in the newspaper Beit Mashiach - whose owners have filed a police complaint of impersonation. Last week the ad was published in Mishpacha, which said that the whole thing is under examination and a clarification will be published once things become clearer.
