Huge bomb attack was prevented in Beitar Illit: This morning a man was arrested at a checkpoint next to Beitar Illit driving a car with a yellow license plate driving towards Beit Shemesh.
According to the police, the vehicle that arrived contained powerful explosives. The suspect was arrested and taken for Security Service Investigation.
Fighters from the Mate Yehuda Jerusalem Border Police identified a Berlingo vehicle approaching the checkpoint. Having recognized that the vehicle owner looked suspicious border patrol signaled him to stop before the checkpoint.
When the driver stopped, fighters identified a wig on the head of the driver. "He was acting suspicious so we had to check it out," says the commander of the checkpoint.
The driver was asked to turn off his car engine, but he delayed. A Border Policeman who examined him clutched at his car keys to turn it off in order to search inside the vehicle.
At this point the driver started driving with half the soldier's body in the car window. After a few meters the soldier drew his weapon, fired his gun and aimed at the suspect as he orders him to stop the car.
The suspect stopped the car there and was stopped by the fighters. Powerful cargo was identified in the vehicle. Sappers were summoned as well as additional forces of police and army came to the scene. The suspect was arrested and taken to interrogation.
At this point Border Police sappers neutralized the charge.
