Chairman of the United Torah Judaism MK Menachem Eliezer Moses, suggesting that most of the Haredi educational institutions lack protection, and are located in temporary buildings.
He said that the phenomenon in this time of war is threatening people and the country must come to its senses soon and close the gap required.
"We are in the midst of Bein Hamezarim. It is wartime. 5 million of state residents are glued to bomb shelters. Now the world has overdone it, and decided to put the entire state into aviation closure. Three years ago, in preparations for the opening of the academic year by the Ministry of Education, I warned the minister that most haredi schools are not protected.
"During Operation Pillar of Cloud" a missile fell in Ashdod at school areas located in trailers. Miraculously it was stuck deep in the ground and did not explode. Another missile fell on Shabbos, while there are no studies. Only miracles prevented a major disaster. One of the reports issued by the State Comptroller, also addressed the lack of protection and the condition of the schools, especially in Haredi education."
"The city of Ashdod was built of quarters. While the districts inhabited by the secular population, were populated when educational institutions were already intact, built as required, with protected rooms, yards and facilities, in Haredi quarters were not yet occupied and then they started to think about solutions for educational institutions. The solutions required were immediate. Since it is impossible to build schools in one day, sheltered rooms were placed temporarily. Once the temporary shelters were placed, one could not build schools on the same field, until the evacuation of the buildings. Obviously an alternative site is not always found, so too the budget to move it. Thus for years dozens of institutions are in armored caravans, without safe rooms.
"Unfortunately, the problem today is no longer just in Ashdod. Hamas rockets reach almost any point in the country. There have been alarms in Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, Beit Shemesh, Elad, Beitar, Modiin Illit. In all these localities there are numerous educational institutions where students learn in temporary buildings without protection. If G-d forbid a shrapnel falls on the trailer with students in it, it can end in disaster.
"I hereby call in the Knesset plenum once again: there is no room for discrimination between blood and blood. I warn again and appeal to all authorized parties. Please come to your senses in a timely manner and act for protecting all schools before a disaster, G-d forbid."
