Cleared for publication: 13 Golani soldiers were killed during the night and this morning (Sunday), in fighting in eastern Gaza, Sajaiya.
Worst case, one killed last night after midnight, seven men as anti-tank missile fired from a house hit an armored personnel tiger in which they traveled.
The incident occurred east of Gaza City neighborhood intersection. Two others were injured in the incident.
Shortly thereafter, at -1:20, after midnight encountered men of the Golani 51 terrorists and ran with them an exchange of gunfire. One soldier was killed in the incident.
In another incident that occurred in Sajaiya three soldiers were killed, including two officers, when an anti-tank missile was fired at the force that operated in the neighborhood.
Another 12 soldiers were wounded and transferred to an Israeli hospital for treatment.
In another incident took place in a crowded neighborhood grenade power and eight soldiers were wounded.
13 killed join the five soldiers and officers killed during the first days of the ground invasion. Yesterday Maj. (Res.) Amotz Greenberg and Adar Bresno Brigade 188 of the Armored Corps were killed, an incident in which gunmen infiltrated Israel in Ayin Hashlosha.
Also killed yesterday second lieutenant Bar Rahav Combat Engineering Corps and Sergeant Benaya Rovel, infantry soldiers. On Friday, the first soldier killed in the operation, Sergeant Eitan Barak.
Chief of Staff commented on the killing and said that the IDF has a duty to act against Hamas infrastructure. "Chief of Staff - Gen. Benny Gantz says IDF knew hard fighting everyday but has not deterred in the past, nor will it deter in the future." People of Israel will never forget the 13 saints who were killed - along with other victims, the best of our people who were killed since the operation began. "
Minister Uri Ariel commented: "Our hearts are with all families of the victims. We are forbidden to gamble on our security, and despite the tremendous pain we must complete the mission and strike Hamas to death.
