The secular staff of the Jewish Home party addressed the state comptroller with a complaint due to corruption and deficiencies which exist, according to it, in the Chief Rabbinate of Israel.
The secular staff of the Jewish Home has activated a call center for complaints about the system by the Chief Rabbinate in recent months.
Serious complaints reached the call center, including: a demand for cash from kashrut supervisors, appearance at the place of a few minutes unlike the procedures, and more.
According to the Chairman of Staff, Inbal Lieber, to 'Makor Rishon' newspaper, complaints about corruption and deficiencies in the kashrus system were referred to the Chief Rabbinate but not treated, and therefore referred the complaints to the state comptroller.
"The goal was to assist the Rabbinate role," he said, "The responses ranged from evasion to ignoring, it seemed that the rabbinate seeks to avoid handling the matter and it caused much inconvenience."
The Chief Rabbinate's response has not been received and will be published once it is.
