A strange mystery that began three days ago came to an end today (Thursday) afternoon: in an apartment on Narkis Street in Jerusalem, the body of a lonesome haredi woman was found lifeless. The body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir.

The woman had no first-degree relatives, but is a relative of Rabbi Tufik from Betar Illit.
In the absence of close family, Zaka undertook to bring the woman to burial, but ran into an unexpected problem. According to Interior Ministry records, the woman has a daughter named Maria, 47, a Christian Arab from Haifa. Without the daughter's permission, one could not release the body for burial.

It was not clear because none of her friends did not know of the existence of the old woman's daughter. Rabbi Tufik too declared that his relative does not have any connection with Maria.

ZAKA worked hard to locate the Arab woman, recorded as the daughter of the deceased. When they found her, she told them that she does not understand how she is related to a Jew who died in Jerusalem. "My mother died four years ago," she said.

Haim Weingarten, ZAKA Operations Officer, told Behadrey Haredim that after persuasion, the "daughter" agreed to go for DNA testing. Today the results arrived which proved that indeed there was a mistake in the records of the state and the body of the deceased was released for burial.

The funeral was held on Thursday.
