Train guard attacked haredi woman: "You're all document forgers"

"You're all counterfeiters," the guard of Israel Railways threw at a haredi woman resident of Beit Shemesh.

A Beit Shemesh resident arrived with her sister at the Israel train station in Malha, Jerusalem, and was asked to show an identification card.

She said she was not sure the ID is in her possession, and began to search her purse. The search continued for a while, and in response the security guard threw at her: "You haredim fake IDs, for sure your certificate is now in the police."

The security guard attributed the lack of ID card to the election fraud affair in Beit Shemesh, but a few minutes later, the certificate was found, and the women walked onto the train, to reach their destination in Beit Shemesh.

The woman, about 40, said in a conversation with Behadrey Haredim: " It can not be that an officer who should honor every traveler without difference between secular and hareidi, men and women, will attack me verbally against an affair which is under investigation, and it has nothing to do with me.

"He yelled at me in front of all the passengers and shamed me, accused me of alleged involvement in a criminal act, and after the certificate was found did not even bother to apologize. This is clearly misconduct, and I'm going to file a complaint."

In response, the Israel Railways said: "The Israel Railway views the subject of inspection safety with priority, in order to provide its customers with high safety level as much as possible. Undergoing a security check using an ID is usually performed to facilitate and speed up the inspection process of passengers arriving at the station with plenty of luggage, or baby strollers.

"Israel Railways will examine thoroughly the allegations made against the security guard at the Jerusalem Malha station.
