Lapid and Bennett resumed alliance: we will accelerate the conscription law

Until two days ago it seemed the political alliance between Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett was about to collapse, due to differences in recent weeks, mainly because of yeshiva budget cuts and laws on religion and state.

But they were not waiting for further deterioration, and on Monday night met to thrash out the issues and agree on strengthening their political alliance. Journalist Zeev Kam reported in Ma'ariv .

According to sources involved in the details of the meeting, the Alliance is still the basis for political interest and understanding that if the two parties are not committed to each other, both will be exposed to risk in the future to squeeze into the opposition and instead another party will enter.

According to Ma'ariv, one of the main agreements received by the two related to the new yeshiva recruitment law: The two agreed that the teams will be established by representatives of both parties to expedite the enactment of the law, and states that have already approved the law in November and transferred by the Shaked Committee for final approval in the Knesset.
