An investigation conducted in Jerusalem and which concerns suspicion of the conduct of the local elections in Beit Shemesh - was transferred to the national unit of the Israeli police of fighting crime, 'Lahav 433'.
The details of the investigation and the suspects were placed under a gag order, which is valid until 4:11:13.
As recalled, following intelligence information which reached the Jerusalem Police, eight people were arrested on election day in the affair of IDs in Beit Shemesh. The next day, their detention was extended by six days. The only woman detainee was released under restrictive conditions. In recent days a number of people were questioned, and some people their identity cards were found.
According to investigation use and voting was made with thirty of the documents found in the apartment.
Yesterday afternoon, detainees Avaham Biller, Ahaon Shuel Londre, Shmon Zeidel, Yitzchak Menashe Rosenfeld, Avraham Weinberg,Avraham Ibber and Shlomo Wolf, who so far remained silent, the arrest of two was extended, and the rest were released. A few hours later, one of the detainees was released, so that only one detainee remained.
According to information revealed to date, the identity cards were spread on the tables, while in the top apartment costumes, clothing, glasses, and lists of cards numbers and details were found.
According to police suspicion, some certificates were given by their owners, residents of the city, in order to vote. The suspicion is that monetary compensation was given for the use of the certificates.
Attorney Shimon Kokos, the suspect's lawyer said in a conversation with Behadrey Haredim: "The court, in a very reasoned decision, in a hearing which lasted several hours, after examining the share of each suspect, found that in practice beyond the initial suspicion that there was no real need for further arrest. The investigation has not progressed substantially, many detainees, none of which implicated my client and not the others. The arrest comes for the sake of investigation, and not on account of future punishment.
"The court rightly and boldly stated that there was no reason to keep my client and others held for the purpose of detention, which can be negated, and this by an alternative to detention. Undoubtedly many days are required for the Israeli police to continue and come back with news, but in this case, my client, a young man of about 18, there is nothing real and true, and the court rightly released him."
Lawyers of the suspects, Attorney Yair Golan and Attorney Steinberger, said last week that there was no information on suspects. "The police went into apartments, where at least 15 people escaped while attacking the police."
Attorneys also claimed a puzzling argument, that fanatics wishing to vote must dress up so they can get to the polls without being harrassed.
