Doctor of Gedolei Yisrael• Dr. Joseph Kleinman z"l

Baruch Dayan Haemes: In Jerusalem died today (Monday) Dr. R. Joseph Kleinman z"l, chief of internal medicine at Bikur Cholim Hospital in Jerusalem, when he was 65 at his death.

Dr. Joseph Kleinman was born in Poland on 19th Tevet תש"ח , to his father Reb Chaim z"l and his mother Faigel a"h.

He served as chief of internal medicine at Bikur Cholim Hospital in Jerusalem, even after its merger with the Medical Center Shaarei Tzedek .

Dr. Kleinman has named by the Arthur Felix Award for Outstanding Work in atherosclerosis. He studied at Washington University in St. Louis, basic research in the field of lipids. He founded and operated in 1989 a unique wound healing (which nurses diabetes wounds and other wounds that do not heal and in this area published research and clinical work.

In his role he served as the associations of diabetes and atherosclerosis in Israel and abroad and member society of the diabetic foot. Dr. Kleinman is a pioneer in the treatment of extremity diabetic ulcers and other wounds that do not heal.

Many senior people of Jerusalem know the character of Dr. Kleinman. He handled over the years much of the Orthodox community in Jerusalem and learned the approach to personal and parental illness.

During his devotion he also accompanied many of the Gedolei Yisrael in their last moments on earth, including Hagaon Fisher, Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Halberstam, Hgrm"s Shapiro and Hgr"y Kaduri.

He is survived by his wife, the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Neugroshel z"l and four daughters.

The funeral will leave at 14:30 pm from the Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem to Har Hamenuchos where he will be laid to rest.
