Stricken tree: Couple divorce because of voting?

Polarization in Lithuanian community is gaining momentum: After yeshiva students who voted עץ were thrown out of kollelim, and after the order of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky to also remove melamdim who voted עץ, now the conflict is spreading into the inside homes, and it threatens to create a rift and a crisis between spouses and dismantle the family unit.

The following story happened after the elections: the Lithuanian couple broke into sharp confrontation. Husband voted for עץ -affiliated Bnei Torah Hgr"s Auerbach, while his wife voted for Yahadut Hatorah list, according to Hgray"l Steinman's and Hgr"ch's Kanievsky orders. Tones at home increased and the crises caused as a result, created a real danger of dissolution.

Husband's mother, who heard of the painful story, looked in the phone book for one of the help lines dealing with crises in marriage. She chose one at random. On the line was Michael, a professional in the field, who also has a professional clinic.
The woman told him that the argument between the couple may end in divorce, and she fears it.

"The woman," says Michael who specializes in managing crises amongst couples told B'Chadrei Charedim, "She asked me what to do in this case. I explained to her that first we need to check if the two were to date in reconciliation and marriage was normal. Because it can certainly be that there was between them crises and incidents, which - as a mother – she was not aware of them, and the story of the election is just the trigger or cover escalation created. I advised her to refer the couple to therapy. I am hoping that's what she will do. It is a bit hard to believe that just over disagreements about the nature of the voting, the house will be broken.
