Vandalism in Ponevez: Books of R' Chaim Kanievsky burned

The dispute in the Litvishe world, which was expressed initially by the split of the group of 'Bnei Torah' from the Litvishe public, while establishing a newspaper and a separate party, has already turned violent - and it is only getting worse.

About a week ago a group of bochurim affiliated with Bnei Torah attacked avreichim from Kollel Ateres Shlomo withtear gas. On Wednesday morning Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman was attacked violently by an avreich from Modi'in Illit, and this morning (Friday) the campaign of violence continues, when on Ponevez Hill sheets of books of Hagaon R' Chaim Kanievsky and Hgri"g Edelstein were found burned, torn and thrown in disgrace in one corner of the yeshiva.

A yeshiva student said this morning to Behadrey HAredim: "Perhaps after the protest rally held yesterday, the 'mechablim did not like the fact that a large public arrived, so they saw a need to signal that they are still around."

However, despite this blaming – it is not yet known who ignited and threw the books in disgrace.
