Health status of Hgray'l Steinman continues to be of concern: Since the brutal attack yesterday (Wednesday) morning, he is in extreme pain. Due to reluctance to take medication (but only vitamins), there is no way to assuage the pain.

This morning, his personal physician ordered to come to the hospital, and he was accompanied by members of his household, where he underwent a series of tests and X-Rays. Tests did not find any indication to a fracture or crack, but he suffered a strong dry blow. Additionally, many cases of cracks are small and are not visible, and usually fuse with time, but causes severe pain that can last for weeks.

When he was released from the hospital, while instructing him complete rest, went out with his men, led by his grandson Rabbi David Shapiro, to the garden on the outskirts of Bnei Brak, to breathe fresh air and recover. After the attack Hgray"l wrapped in silence for a few hours, and then began to recover slightly.

Return to learning," he repeated to his family, as he refuses to consider courses of action for the attack which provoked shock in all walks of ultra-Orthodox. Who ultimately received the decision whether to hold a protest rally or not is Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, reached by heads of yeshivas, previously consulted on with the Rosh Yeshiva of Ponovicz, Harav Povarsky.

In the background is the police attempt to restore order and prevent riots in place around the attack.

Modi'in Illit - the city from where the attacker came- there was several rallies. One last night at the main synagogue, where Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Kessler delivered a long and sharp speech in the city. Rallies were held this morning in several institutes and seminaries.

A rally will be held tonight in Bnei Brak at 19:00 at Ponovicz.

How to secure

Members of the house of Hgray"l is struggling on what to do to secure his home. After all, anyone wishing to enter the house during davening - entered. Room where there is a chapel is part of the house, and it can get into all the other rooms.

Even in times of reception the door is wide open, by the will of Hgray"l and family members are struggling with what to do to not abandon his safety.

During the last day there has been intensified attendance of grandchildren around the house, but it is clear to all that is not enough. At the same time, a rear exit is being prepared, and added a flight of stairs, to make it more accessible.

During a conversation with one of Hgray"l Steinman's associated in Modi'in Illit he said that yesterday his son returned from Talmud Torah and said, "eighth-grade boy told the children that "good that Rabbi Steinman beaten." Class parents called the child's father, who responded:" Yes, this is what he heard at home. "

What about the orders of Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky to remove children from institutions whose parents voted עץ or זך? For the time it was decided that the decision will be placed on the desk of Hgray"l when he feels well again.

"It is estimated that he would not agree to that," says one of his relatives. It has always been the way of Hgray"l Steinman through the forbearance of these and other injuries, even if some of his associates was not happy with it.
