Hamas: We dug the uncovered tunnel

Izz al - Din al - Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas , claimed responsibility for the tunnel exposed by the IDF last week at length of 2.5 km , from Khan Yunis into Israel.

Spokesman for Hamas' military wing - Abu Ubaidah said that his organization is responsible for the terrorist tunnel digging IDF revealed last week between Gaza and the Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha.

In an interview with radio station Al Aqsa in Gaza, Abu - Obaydah said that the military forces of the organization "dug the tunnel and were responsible for it."

"We dug this tunnel although the eyes (soldiers) of Israel did not sleep at night for fear we will kidnap soldiers, and that was our intention of digging the tunnel. Kidnap soldiers and release thousands of prisoners." He added that the issue of prisoners is a top priority.

Abu Ubaidah said that he was not looking for popularity or numbers, but looking to achieve results through quality operations and the pride of the Palestinian people.

Last Sunday, after the permitted exposure of the tunnel for publication by the IDF, the army imposed a responsibility excavation of Hamas, claiming that the organization is "responsible for everything that happens in the Gaza Strip."
