Rebbetzin Leah Kook abruptly announced last week that she had received rabbinical ruling to stop giving her fixed Torah lesson, given for the past 20 years, so reports Ma'ariv.

According to officials in Tiberius, the one who ordered her to stop her teachings is Hgra"d Auerbach, Ashkenazi rabbi of the city who supports the Torah Judaism party.

According to Shas sources quoted in Maariv, the Rav's concern was that the Rabbanit would guide her students in the lesson which was supposed to take place tonight, to vote for Shas. "Every Sunday before the elections Rebbetzin Kook ends the lesson by telling her students to vote Shas, but suddenly she announced a rabbi told her to stop the class for no reason and explanation, and caused a big commotion," said one activist .

Rabbi Pinchas Vaknin, head of the United Torah Judaism list in Tiberias, denied the allegations of Shas and said, " Of course there is tension between the two haredi parties, as between any two parties competing for the same constituency, and it is also true that Harav Auerbach is associated with our party, but he could not have given such an order to Rebbetzin Kook."
