In the afternoon, (Tuesday) Two policemen were attacked during the pilgrimage to Rachel's tomb.
The incident occurred at the tomb complex: the police, who were responsible for public security, saw that in the woman's section there is overcrowding. The patrol officer of Moriah region, control Ehud Perry, asked the women who were close to the entrance to evacuate.
While women were leaving quietly, one woman decided not to accept the provisions of the police and refused to come out. The woman did not stop there and attacked the police officer whilst punching his face and made a cut in his hand.
Police officers and assistants who were there tried to evacuate her, but she continued to attack and hit a training officer of Moria monitors space Lizzie Ben Arush, who was slightly injured. Two police officers were treated on the spot by a MDA team.
Attacker, 48, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting police and breach of public order.
Police officers emphasize that the presence of police at Rachel's Tomb compound is designed to maintain public safety and expects immigrants to behave responsibly and respect the place.
