On Monday morning a discussion on areas of national priority map was held at the Knesset Economics Committee.
MK Ayelet Shaked, chairman of Habayit Hayehudi, attacked the government, saying: "The Israeli government has approved the regulation of Jewish settlement in the Negev. Yet to our surprise, the national priority map has introduced into 24 tribes; tribes and not communities, tribes, some of them with eviction order and that in the fire area.
"And I ask why remains of the tribe, which is within the area of fire, and government policy to evacuate the area becomes a national priority whilst suburbs in Judea and Samaria, which it is clear that the policy of the government is building in the West Bank removes them from the map ? It looks like the left hand does not know what the right hand does".
MK Yaakov Asher attacked the Kiryat Gat, Harish and Betar Illit settlement removal from the map of priority: " I think this is a political decision, survival, higher-ups said this decision will match our agenda, because if it is not so, it is hard for me to understand what happened in Beitar from 2009 till now which changed the criteria."
"What happened for example in Beitar in three years that changed the map? Has anything changed materially? It's a relatively hostile area; there are several attempted attacks, has the socioeconomic level increased dramatically in recent years? My opinion is an attempt to please some Bedouins and some settlers, whilst hitting some ultra-orthodox and from that will come something which no clerk whatsoever can convince us that it is fair, it is clear to everyone that if they would auction on these criteria, the auction would fail. I think this is a political decision, survival, which characterizes this 'triple" government."
