For the first time in Israel, Yeshiva University model Campus Ein Hemed opened in Jerusalem, same as the University recognized abroad. The yeshiva for young haredim combines religious studies with high academic studies.
Yesterday (Sunday) Ein Hemed Campus opened. The campus opened in Azrieli College Campus - College of Engineering in Jerusalem. Within the campus, the haredi youngsters will learn Torah studies combined with academic studies.
Please note that the "format" of yeshiva combined with religious studies with academic studies is very common among ultra-Orthodox in the U.S. and Europe, but Israel has not established such a yeshiva.
The campus is accompanied by rabbis who will lead the way to religious studies achievers including rabbinical certification tests - along with academic studies. The boys will receive delay from military service and instead will acquire tools that will help them to integrate in the Israeli labor market.
The project was opened by Yisrael Cohen Rosovsky, an Orthodox, which in recent years has promoted academic studies projects within the Haredi public, and led to the establishment of adult training institutions and youth in technology.
"In recent years we have witnessed the phenomenon of many young Haredim who want to integrate in the labor market but they do not have the right tools appropriate for employment and decent wages," says Rosovsky. He said, "After seeing the need for training these young people we decided to open the "Campus Ein Hemed" and combine religious studies achievers on one side and the other side will provide the right tools for those haredim so they can then easily integrate into the labor force."
Rosovsky added that " the project works in the organization "Orthodox jobs" which will ensure and will accompany the placement of students in terms of employment while in school and after graduation."
