Today (Sunday) afternoon cleared for publication that detectives in the Jerusalem central unit in recent weeks arrested 14 minors Jews aged 13-16, residents of Jerusalem, attending yeshivas around the country, which were organized as a gang in recent months, which has set itself a target to hit Arabs and their property for "Arab hatred and revenge attacks committed against the Jews" - such as Jewish stabbing near the Damascus Gate a few months ago.
All suspects were remanded and remand was extended. Four of them were released on terms and conditions by researchers at the Central Unit because of their young age (13 and a half). Investigation continues and police say more arrests are expected.
The investigation began after capturing two Jewish minors last week after an Arab resident of Sheikh Jarrah, called the police when damaged two vehicles belonging to the Arab neighborhood. They were questioning by the central unit and following interrogation all other suspects were arrested.
Suspects admitted that in recent months attacked Arab drivers , traveling in Haim Bar-Lev - Route 1 , threw stones at the bus company , Egged - after identifying that their drivers are Arabs and Arab-owned buses , torched vehicles belonging to Arab living in Sheikh Jarrah , threw stones at Arabs, and punctured tires for vehicles belonging to Arabs.
Another told interrogators that the attacks and stone throwing occurred after set of observations on different streets, pedestrian detection or Arab drivers, whether it is by bus or private vehicles , and when they were stopped at a red light , they would mark their friends throwing stones at them or open the door to the vehicle , spitting or attacking the drivers.
So far, 20 cases were identified. The investigation is continuing. Police suspect that the suspects involved in other cases are currently investigated.
The District Court rejected an appeal by the police on the arrest of the main suspect, a boy of 16.5, which allegedly set fire to a car and threw stones at Arabs. The judge ruled that the investigation will take time and it is sufficient to specifically house arrest on a minor who are innocent of any criminal record.
His attorney, the Itamar Ben lord advocate, who was hired by the association, Chanenu, said: "The police would hurt the slowness. Instead of serving rapidly charges they created dozens of actions that the court of inquiry to the sick and the child was released. The police must internalize not receive an unlimited credit from the court.
