Two Jewish restaurants torched in Florida

In the heart of the Jewish district in Hollywood, Florida, where there is a large religious community, two kosher restaurants were burned last Sunday.

One of them has been torched previously, exactly a year ago.

The fires were specific - two kosher and popular restaurants in the "Emerald Center" shopping mall on Sterling Street.

Both arson attacks were carried out at night, no one was injured, and firefighters rushed to the scene by the alarm and took control of the fire in less than half an hour. But the damage was already done and burned large sections of the restaurants.

In the same mall where the burned shops are, there are other Israeli-American owned stores – from a kosher supermarket to a 'Hebrew speaking' barber shop. The arson cases occurred despite special security measures enacted by the owners of the restaurants.

The security tapes of previous fires revealed only two men, whose faces were hidden by masks, igniting the fires quickly and professionally.

Police is checking different directions of the arson but refuses to set the case as an event for nationalistic reasons.
