Are the Orthodox politicians busy with local elections? Meanwhile decrees are not waiting. Ministry of Education launches blow on Haredi yeshivas in which foreign students study and support for these students completely stops starting next year.

In a letter sent today (Monday) to Roshei Yeshiva and managers of institutions by Amos Tzayeda, director of the religious institutions, indicates that from 2014 will be canceled support for Overseas Students.

Entitled "Amendment assays support," writes Tzayeda that are currently signed by Shay Piron Education Minister patch tests for support of Torah study and religious institutions for Torah institutions.

By testing the new support until the end of 2013 will be given support reduced by 30% less support than an Israeli student. And next year it will be canceled altogether.
"This decision is very problematic," says one of the director's of the Jerusalem yeshiva, to B'Chadrei Charedim.

"This decision creates a huge hole in our current budget. Representatives of religious parties in the Knesset must raise their voice against the cuts. We are anyway dealing with severe budget cuts, and starting next year we will have to prepare for additional deeper cuts.

"It is sad to see that the state did not appreciate the blessing overseas students bring to Israel."

Sources in the Ministry of Education, "the yeshiva budget policy is not determined by the Ministry of Education or by the Minister of Education," but the budget is built "on the totals between the parties comprising the coalition, the Minister of Education outlines the policy on this issue by these agreements. It is worth mentioning that by dissolution of the Ministry of Religious Affairs the budget was at the Ministry of Religions and therefore it is called today "Religious Budget".
