"We see miracles" the Sephardic chief rabbi and the son of Hgrch"o - Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef said this evening (Motzei Shabbos), by a satellite.

"The doctors told us last week that it is a matter of hours but thank God we see miracles here," said Rabbi Yitczhak Yosef son of Hgrch"o Yosef. "During Shabbos Maran Shlita opened his eyes and moved his hand, there is a slight improvement, the infection decreased much, but we still need to pray. Maran is unconscious. We must not let go."

He added: "This week boys should not go on trips, everyone sat should sit and learn in the merit of Maran."

Also son in law of Hgrch"o, Rabbi Mordechai Toledano said during a shiur: "I call on all gabbaim to open study houses and set times for Torah during the week for the recovery of Maran."

During Shabbos there was a very slight improvement in the condition of Hgrch"o Yosef, however his condition continues to be very difficult, say tonight (Motzei Shabbos) doctors at Hadassah Ein Kerem.

Prof. Dan Gillon, MD of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, said this evening during a special briefing that there is a slight improvement in the condition of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, hospitalized in Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem.

"It's been a quiet Shabbos. Overall the condition is defined as difficult to very difficult, but there are several indicators that indicate improvement. I shall say it carefully, there is a trend of improvement in several parameters most important of which is the trend of awakening after anesthetic treatment. This is only the beginning."
He added: "Other indicators show a decrease in inflammation and the use of blood pressure medications that support a reduced dose. Direction is the improvement." So said doctors who hope to try and wake him early this week.

The son of Rabbi Moshe Yosef stayed by his side during Shabbos, as well as his assistant Zvi Chakak and Shas chairman Aryeh Deri.

Rabbi David Yosef, son of Hgrch"o thanked physicians for the devoted care given to his father. He expressed relief and improvement in his father's condition but asked the public to continue praying for his recovery of Rabbi Chaim Ovadia Yosef Ben Georgia.
