A 6 year old boy, who was eating a lollipop near the end of Yom Tov, on Ein Yaakov Street, Jerusalem – choked on it.

MDA drives of Ichud Hatzala performed resuscitation on him, when at the end he was taken with a pulse to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital.

The child was put into surgery, where doctors removed the foreign body from his body.

MDA paramedic, Morad Salman, who arrived on the scene and treated the boy said: "We received a call about a child who was choking. When we arrived we saw a hustle on the street and civilians who had began CPR. We immediately started to give him medical treatment and perform advanced resuscitation until the pulse returned after a few minutes, we then evacuated him to Shaare Zedek hospital, while he is unconscious and on a respirator.

"Family members who were there said they were at home and the child was licking a lollipop. The lollipop detached from the stick and he choked. He came to the family, to tell them - and collapsed. They ran him into the street and civilians who passed by helped and began to perform CPR until we arrived after a short while".
