Tragedy in the Kol Nidrei: Esther Ben Zohar Ohayon a 57 year-old resident of Florida walked with her daughter Orly, aged 16, in the direction of the Etz Chaim synagogue to Kol Nidre.

When crossing the road a speeding car came and hit the mother and daughter. The mother was killed on the spot, and the daughter Orly was injured and taken to hospital. The driver was arrested and the police suspect that he was under the influence of alcohol.

Rabbi of the synagogue, Rabbi Yaakov Fisch, said that Esther Ohayon, a kindergarten teacher, was a woman of extraordinary grace and that her coffin will be flown to Israel for burial beside her husband.

Orly, her 16 year old daughter was injured in the accident and underwent surgery and is still hospitalized. Rabbi Fisch added that the place where the accident occurred is a place for trouble especially for the haredi who on Sabbath and holidays cannot push the button that triggers the traffic light.
