Heal us • Elimelech Firer will receive the 'President adornment'

Additional Award ' President Adornment' will be awarded to Elimelech Firer, chairman of Ezra Lamarpe, which established medical assistance patients. Firer, Nobel Prize winner in Israel, without any medical education, acquired medical knowledge on his own and became the address for every patient.

The decision was made - by President Shimon Peres and - by the award committee, headed by a retired Supreme Court Judge Meir Shamgar. In the committee the state's fifth president Yitzhak Navon is also a member.

Other adornments were awarded to writer Eli Wiesel, one of the world's most prominent Jews, who survived from the Holocaust and acts to perpetuate it for decades; brigadier general Kahalani, for his many years of Israel's security, for being a model for thousands of young people's willingness to share the security and welfare activities for IDF soldiers and commanders, Hollywood film director Steven Spielberg, for his film making and for commemorating the Holocaust, and other individuals who contributed in various fields.

It is noted that one of the award recipients is also a person who works in the security of Israel, which for obvious reasons can not reveal his name.
