Relief in Lakewood, after a young man who terrified the town, was arrested.

In recent weeks, there were dozens of reports of abduction attempts of haredi children in Lakewood and just this week two attempts of abduction of children occurred.

Police and Hashomrim organization joined forces and managed to capture a young suspect.

At a press conference held by Police Chief Rob Larsen this morning, he said that the 29 year old man admitted that he tried to abduct two girls but the two escaped.

The police chief added that the suspect's interrogation shows that there are more victims who did not contact the police, and he calls on all those whom the suspect tried to abduct to call the police and testify against him.

Yesterday morning at eight, a black mini-van driven by a youngster stopped suddenly at a traffic light next to a haredi. The driver called the girl to go into the car, but she escaped. After failing, he attempted to repeat his action on a nearby street.

Police cars raided the area and half an hour later the police captured the suspect in his car.

Harav Hagaon R' Yaakov Forsheimer, one of the local rabbis, issued a psak halacha that "all those who are witness to a case of kidnapping must call the police immediately even on Shabbos and Yom Tov."
