Attack recedes • Obama asked Congress to delay voting

U.S. President Barack Obama, asked tonight (Tuesday) from Congress to postpone the vote on the approval of a military attack against Syria to give Russia more time to formulate the arrangement under Assad to deliver all chemical weapons in his possession.

"We hope he wants to test the seriousness of the Syrians and the Russians really want to get rid of these chemical weapons in Syria," said the head of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Carl Levin, to the press, "He wants time to check it out."

Syria's foreign minister, Walid al - Moallem reiterated Russia's national television that Damascus would actually move the hands possession of chemical weapons and sign the international treaty banning such weapons.

"We want to join the treaty banning chemical weapons," he said, "We are ready to fulfill our commitments in accordance with this treaty, including providing all information related to this weaponry. We are ready to declare the location of chemical weapons, to cease production, and can reveal the production facilities of these to the representatives from Russia UN and other companies."
However, Secretary of State John Kerry stood in the House of Representatives to continue to mobilize support for action in Syria and said Syria must do more than just declare its possession of chemical weapons stockpiles or to sign the international treaty banning such weapons.

He added that "the arrangement must receive approval of the UN Security Council before going ahead, so we have confidence that such an arrangement has the power it should have."
He said that the Syrian government must go further for peace, stand on their word that and cooperate to form a formula that would allow the transfer of all international arms control and destruction."

So the government must promote the end of the Civil War through dialogue with the rebels.

Meanwhile the UN Security Council informed that the closed-door emergency session summoned by the Russia Council to discuss Syria was canceled after the Russians pulled their application. Cancellation reason is unclear.
