Beitar Illit rabbis against 'Zomba' classes
On Erev Rosh Hashana Rabbis of Beitar Illit published a letter: prohibit the existence of exercise classes using the "zomba" method • "accompanying melodies and songs are contrary to what the Torah teaches"

Rabbinical Court of the city of Beitar published on Erev Rosh Hashana a letter in which they forbid attending the Zomba exercise method.
In a letter titled 'Warning', the rabbis wrote that recently "opened in our city gymnastics classes using the "zomba" method originated in South America."
"But after it became clear to us that the manner and form of this, as well as the accompanying melodies and songs which are played are contrary to what the Torah teaches, so we wish to announce that one must not hold, organize or participate in those classes."
"And any question which comes up one must turn to the Beis Din."
The letter ends, "and hearing our words would be blessed from heaven and blessing of good writing and signature."
Signed by City Rabbis, Hagaon Rabbi Dov Tzvi Ordentlich, Rabbi Zvi Braverman and Rabbi Shlomo Itzkowitz.
