R' Shlomo z"l was born in the U.S. to his late father Rabbi Yaakov Zakheim zt"l, Mir and Baranowicz yeshiva graduate and talmid of R' Elchanan Wasserman hy"d, and his mother tichye.

As a young man he succeeded in business and became rich. Already at the start he donated to charitable organizations, including the organization Ezra Lemarpeh.

In his youth he lived in Flatbush and was close to Hagaon R' Shmuel Birnbaum zt"l Mir Rosh Yeshiva in the U.S., and was the principal supporter of the Yad Avraham fund which he established for kollel students in Israel.

Over the years, he became attached to Hgrm"i Lefkowitz zt"l with bonds of love and was a mainstay of the Kollel network for learning Taharos to his last day by an associate of Hgrmi"l - Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Hertz .

Hgrm"i Lefkowitz collapsed, as recalled, on Saturday night a few days before his death, in a recreation of R' Shlomo in Katamon neighborhood in Jerusalem.

When Hgrm"s Shapira zt"l, Rosh Yeshiva of Be'er Yaakov, was sick and needed to get to the U.S., R' Shlomo z"l took care of all flight arrangements .

Acquaintances tell of a person with special a personality, who welcomed all pleasantly. When rockets fell on southern Israel and Sderot, he came especially with a group to Israel to identify with the residents and donated a Sefer Torah to locals.

His coffin will arrive tomorrow (Monday) afternoon to Israel and the funeral will leave at 14:00 from the home of Hgrm"i Lefkowitz zt"l on Vilkomirer Street, Bnei Brak, on its way to the Mount of Rest where he will be buried. The family will sit Shiva in Israel for a few hours, and then take off to New York to continue sitting Shiva.

May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
