This morning (Wednesday) shortly after shacharis a man collapsed in Geula neighborhood in Jerusalem, and lost consciousness.

Hatzalah volunteers rushed to the scene, spotted him without a pulse and not breathing, and began to resuscitate him - while providing shock blows.

After half an hour of intensive resuscitation, his pulse returned and he was evacuated in serious condition by MDA ambulance to Shaarei Zedek hospital in the city.

Chezi Roth, a Hatzalah paramedic told B'Chadrei Charedim that the tourist is 61 years old and probably from the United States, who suffered heart failure and collapsed on the corner of Brandeis Street and Malchei Yisrael.

"By miracle, it was after he left the office car rental so that documents with personal details were on it. On one of the documents we found a phone number of a Jerusalem activist, and after talking with him, he went immediately to the hospital to be with the patient, and make contact with the family."

It turns out that tourists came to Israel last night to stay for Rosh Hashana in Jerusalem.
