This morning (Wednesday), a communiqué was signed by Sephardic and national religious rabbis together with haredi rabbis.
"We are rabbis of communities, the inhabitants of different publics, to express our concern for the continued existence of the Torah and those who study within the nation of Israel and the Diaspora, and all agree that our strength is in our unity.
"We are as one and one heart, announcing the known and clear that the continued study of Torah people of Israel is giving the power and blessing succeed in the real world, and gives strength to strength, and the Torah protects the generation.
"Therefore we appeal to ministers and Knesset members from all parties, not to assist the harsh decrees: recruitment program, forced labor, while imposing sanctions and guilt in criminal cases, with Israel and all its parts was damaged recruitment, forced labor, both by damaging the Torah and the learner, and by difficult disagreement saber body of the nation, which God forbid, be taken as a result of forced recruitment, and other damage and overall conference budget disproportionately cuts - unparalleled in any other sector of the Israeli public.
"Torah Scholars whom it is their profession can continue to work on their teachings, and those who do not sit and study Torah will find their place to serve in proper institutions and Israel will have peace", rabbis finish, and hope: "And Hashem will spread His good spirit from heaven and will teach those lost wisdom and we will soon greet the coming of Mashiach, Amen."
