An interesting comment was received from Hgray"l Steinman, in answer to a question presented to him: in the shadow of activity against the holders of smart phones, a student sought to know whether a person who holds an iPhone, or any mobile device forbidden by rabbis in the Affairs Committee communications, may serve as shofar blower.
Hgray"l refused to answer this question directly and said, "This is a problem ..."
Things are published, due to a different question presented to Hgray"l by a resident of Petah Tikva, who asked whether he should hang the common pathetic sign that read: "No entry for the iPhone owner and its ilk.
Hgray"l replied with the words: "We did not find in Chazal that Avraham hung a sign up that idolater's entry is forbidden ... He just asked them to wash hands. We must bring them closer to us and not drive them away…"
Meanwhile, when Hgray"l was asked, to give recommendation about receiving the Day of Judgment, he ordered that the Torah students that their faith is in their mouth, be careful especially "keep your mouth to be free of any prohibited words. And on Shabbos to be careful of adding unnecessary conversation."
And when asked for advice to win on Yom Hadin, Hgray"l replied: "One must strengthen in giving in. And if he will give in, heaven will give into him."
