MK Moshe Gafni: "Lapid is harassing haredi Chessed institutions"

In recent weeks, in lists submitted to the Finance Committee to approve the associations and various aid agencies according to section 46, there are no haredi institutions, according to MK Moshe Gafni.

According to Gafni, "In the four lists which reached the Finance Committee for approval in the coming days, there is no haredi body, no synagogues or religious institutions, no haredi organizations, nothing to do with chessed organizations.

"When we were on the Finance Committee, in any such list there were many haredi groups and organizations as the haredim are normally more in this section since they are less than budgeted and need donations, now the Minister of Finance also affects the Haredi fundraising, not only in budgetary allocations ."

The list approved by the Minister of Finance includes bodies which are not budgeted by the state and the action was designed to encourage external contributions in order to operate them, given the fact that these entities will not receive Article 46 - will hurt them and their ability to raise funds for their activities.

"This is not about the budget, about welfare, on the support of the state, on the contrary, the state went out of the areas where these bodies work, and instead of the state helping them to survive, Lapid does them harm, hatred drives him crazy. We will go on a public struggle which we won't let go of," says Gafni, "This hatred for haredim borders on racism".
