Bennett: "Learn a lesson: Nothing has changed since the Holocaust"

"International stuttering and hesitation on Syria prove again Israel has no one to rely on but herself. Munich in 1938 to Damascus in 2013, nothing has changed. This is the great lesson of these acts in Syria. It is important that every Israeli citizen acknowledge, teach, share and distribute it," wrote yesterday economy Minister Naftali Bennett on his Facebook page.

"North of us is taking place a cruel civil war. Israel has no desire or intention to interfere in any way. Nor do we estimate expected any harm to Israel at this time. Nevertheless, the days when trying to convince us to give Samaria, Judea, and Jerusalem to our enemies in return for "international guarantees" and "adequate security arrangement", it is important that every Israeli watch what happens: over a thousand civilians, many of them infants and children, were killed by poison gas by a dark regime. Over that there is no debate, and the world hesitates.

"Regardless of what is expected to continue, this is a great lesson. Moment of truth, we shall be entirely independent. This is what happened throughout Jewish history. Thus it always was, always will be.

"Exactly, but exactly, the same people who preach to us today to return the West Bank and Jerusalem to the Palestinians, they explained to us with confidence for the last 20 years why is vital we give Assad the Golan Heights. Imagine our situation today if we listened to them. We would have had crazy Sunni terrorists in the Kinneret; gases and chemical weapons canisters on the city of Tiveria, the entire Galilee under direct threat of Syria."

Finally Bennett writes: "So, friends, do not get confused. Only Israel and the IDF will protect the citizens of Israel. Only the Golan Heights, Samaria and Judea will be the mountain of our defense. Jewish people have a rule: If I am not for myself, who is to me. Shabbat Shalom."
