Netanyahu: "horror must stop" • will Europe respond?

The meeting tonight (Sunday) with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, opened by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a powerful message about the use of chemical weapons in Syria: "This is a crime committed by the government of his people. It's terrifying, and these atrocities must stop," he declared.

Netanyahu said that Iran was responsible no less for the slaughter: "I must say that the Assad regime is not working alone. Iranian and operating arms, Hezbollah, are there on the ground and play a key role in helping Syria. What we see in Syria is that extreme regimes have no reservations regarding the use of this weapon even against innocent civilians, against their own people. It illustrates once again we cannot allow most dangerous regimes to achieve the world's most dangerous weapons."

IDF estimated that Assad has used sarin gas, quick to evaporate, thus making it difficult to find evidence for it, as opposed to other gases which are considered more durable.
According to experts, the only way therefore to prove the use of gas is through the signs of the victim's injury. The most prominent signs appear in the eyes, muscle spasms and involuntary provisions.

Later French Foreign Minister himself also said to the News 2: "all the means at our disposal indicate that firstly, indeed chemical massacre occurred in Syria, and secondly Bashar Assad is behind it. Our feelings, of mine and the French people, are that such a crime cannot pass without a strong reaction".

What would be the reaction? "There are many ways of response, but for obvious reasons I cannot be specific in my answers. From the beginning we have taken a firm stand on this. We keep thinking we must find a political solution and there should be dialogue so this should happen, no doubt without the presence of Bashar Assad - in order to maintain Syrian unity."
