Cultural war • three synagogues were broken into on Motzei Shabbos

Three cases of outbreaks and damage caused to synagogues in Bat Yam and Ohr Yehuda, during the night (Sunday).

Two synagogues on Herzl Street and Independence Street in Bat Yam were broken into during the night; holy books were thrown on the floor and damage was caused to the equipment in place.

The investigation is underway at Ayalon district police and suspects have not been arrested yet. Police believe that it may be that boys who were looking to relieve their boredom, but all leads are being tested.

In the morning (Sunday) Police Station police arrested a minor born in 1995 and a resident of Ohr Yehuda on suspicion that he broke in together with another suspect into the synagogue during the night on Yehuda Moshe Sharett Street and stole beer bottles left at the scene from a Shabbat Chassan celebration.
Police who arrived at the scene performed pursuit of the suspects and arrested one of the suspects. This morning he will be brought to court for remand hearing. Further investigation continues at the station.

Recall, after nine cases of vandalism and spraying anti-Semitic graffiti, including crosses, at four synagogues in Bat Yam, Ayalon Police arrested two months ago a 48-year-old man suspected of spraying the graffiti. But later he was released under restrictive conditions.

Judge David Rosen ruled that the planned investigation operations can be maintained even when the suspect is under full house arrest. The judge added that even if there is truth in the police's suspicion that the suspect is mentally impaired or under the psychotic state, this does not form a ground for detention.
