Croatia Airlines sold tickets for non-existent flight

Croatia Airlines sold tickets for a non-existent flight in Ben Gurion Airport schedule • Ben Gurion manager agreed ex gratia to allow the company's exceptional flight

Croatia Airlines sold tickets for non-existent flight

Ben Gurion Airport director, Mr. Shmuel Zakai confirmed abnormally a flight time (slot) for the Croatian airline "Croatia Airlines OU", after it became clear that once again travel agents and the airline issued and sold tickets for a takeoff which is non-existent, which was approved for them before the summer season.

Director of Ben Gurion Airport sees very seriously a situation in which one presents falsely to the innocent traveling public.

In light of circumstances, Zakai published a letter to the airline which announced in no uncertain terms that he would not allow Croatia Airlines to fly to Ben Gurion Airport during the winter season until clarification with the management of the company.

Throughout the summer season of flights at the airport, Ben Gurion acted with leniency towards an aviation company which sold tickets not the hours specified for Croatia Airlines flight (09:00), but at available times.

Tomorrow more than 430 passenger movements and more than 70,000 passengers are expected, and it was not possible to be flexible with the flight slot.

Since the cancellation of the flight would have harmed hundred and fifty Israelis who were supposed to go on vacation, the Ben Gurion Airport Director decided to approve an early flight and not to ignore but to hold a clarification procedure as to the airline.

The Airport Authority regrets that airlines and travel agents did not internalize the operational discipline used in the aviation world and continue to act unfairly to the traveling public.
