From time to time, new entries are posted from Gedolei Yisroel, about the severity of the prohibition of the use of Smartphone devices. From time to time, it appears that the relation to the holders of these devices gets a twist of radicalization.
The last story is published by the person involved, in letters to the board in the "Halacha Le'maase" calendar distributed in shulls.
He realtes that he went to Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky and quoted to him the words of the Gemora in Brochos stating that one who passes after a woman in the river and he's used it - has no part in the next world. Well, R' Chaim was asked, is one who possesses an iPhone or Web included among those who have no share in the World to Come?
R' Chaim listened to the question, thought a little and said emphatically: 'Certainly.' I.e. a person who holds such a device, is among those who have no share in the World to Come. According to the person involved, a number of talmidei chachomim encouraged him to spread the story widely, to inspire those who have devices prohibited by Gedolei Yisroel, to remove them from their possession.
