For the first time since the establishment of the 'Women of the Wall', 25 years ago, the women will hold Selichot prayers in two and a half weeks, at the Western Wall.

The selichot initiated by the organization is expected to take place on Sunday 26th Elul, at 22:00.

According to the women's group planning this time they will pray without a prayer shawl or tefillin, and will hold the prayer there for the first time.

Women published their planned event on the organization's Facebook page: "we shall pray, sing and open our hearts, as is customary in any community of Israel." It said.
The organization emphasized that these prayers include a small number of women and they have no interest to stimulate the media.

A survey conducted by B'Chadrei Charedim, showed that there is no planned response from the ultra-Orthodox public.

Activist involved in organizing seminary girl's prayers every Rosh Chodesh against the Women of the Wall said: "This is no special reason. Our goal is to fight for the Jewish character of the Western Wall. When women come with a shawl and tefillin, it is a deviation from the Jewish tradition, so we're fighting it. When women plan to come to say Selichot without unnecessary provocation, our response is unnecessary'.
