When the Satmar Rebbe went down to meet Avraham Aveinu

Like every year, Elul brings a long line of followers to the Satmar Rebbe's residence in Kiryat Yoel, who wish to enter with a Kvitel and be blessed together with their families for the new year.

Last night, during the reception, the Rebbe came out of his room and went down to the hall under his house, where he participated in the engagement of one of his followers. In the past five years, since the establishment of regulations on reducing spending in marriage, the number of participants in the engagement was also restricted and, accordingly, the nature of the meal accompanying it. Whoever accepts the regulations to the party and holds the engagement in the hall under the house of the Rebbe, the Rebbe participates in the event.

However, this time the engagement carried a particularly exciting character. This is an arranged marriage of a convert couple who got engaged. The convert lives in the home of one of the disciples who live in Kiryat Yoel, while the bride was adopted by another family of local residents.

When the Rebbe walked into the room, he apologized to hundreds of followers waiting and told them: "There is now a simcha down here. Avraham Avinu is being hosted here ... We are all family, so we're going to rejoice with great joy."

The large public accepted the offer and went with the Rebbe to the hall to celebrate the joy of the couple. The crowd began dancing for joy, and excitement soared.
