This morning (Tuesday) the court held a hearing in the matter of 29 detainees who rioted in Beit Shemesh yesterday, suspected offenses of disorderly conduct, obstructing a police officer, assaulting a police officer, arson and causing damage.

The arrest of 20 suspects was extended until tomorrow at 15:00 - after they refused to identify themselves.

Seven other suspects were released under restrictive conditions: self and third party guarantee in the amount of NIS 4,000, money deposit in the amount of NIS 1,000, and exclusion distance of 300 meters for 90 days from the construction.

Two other detainees suspected of arson yesterday in Beit Shemesh, released by Magistrate Court in Jerusalem under the following conditions: a deposit of 1000 NIS bail and a third party for the sum of 4000 NIS and total exclusion from the domain of construction of 300 meters for 90 day. Suspect not identified from the 2 will be released under these conditions only if he identifies with an ID at the police station before the release.

Rabbi Shisa, who spoke on their behalf at the opening of the debate, said that "in their opinion because it's desecration of graves they want to remain in detention to protest the desecration of graves."

Police representatives told the hearing that "the place has been tested by the Israel Antiquities Authority and found that there were no graves and beyond there are elements within the Haredi sector that they believe can do the construction work on site, and as it is only a certain part in the Haredi sector.

"During the riots yesterday included a riot of hundreds of haredim and unauthorized entries into the compound, an attempt to lie under the wheels of the tractor, objections to evacuate the place, attacking police and arson of natural woodlands around the compound and arson of garbage cans while burning the nearby road and streets.

"The detainees broke into the compound and began to run toward the tools which were there and when police tried to keep them away they lay on the ground and refused to evacuate."

One of the detainees not identified, said: "I am the son of God and I'm glad he chose me to be his son. He loves me. Approaching the Days of Judgment, and I'm glad he invited me I could protect the dignity generated by these days. He is the landlord of the world. We are not scared of conditions, and we have no problem to go to jail for some time, as long as they stop the excavations. "We do not recognize the court.
