Four of the detainees were brought after the remand investigation. The police demanded the extension of detention for eight days, but Irit Cohen, Vice President of the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court extended the remand in only five days - until the 16th.

Investigation material presented has to establish reasonable suspicion. Matter of the investigation indicates that the police arguments rose by counsel for the respondent in his arguments, and answers to issues raised.

"Release the respondent at this stage may interfere with the investigation. Respondent maintains the right to remain silent. Material is large and the investigation is not simple. Nevertheless, I accept the position of counsel for the respondent that there is no place in this first remand extends the detention for as long as requested. "

Even the arrest of his son Nathan Berland, Aaron Tfilinsky and Eran Hochberg, extended by five days - until Friday at 10 am.

Nachman Berland and Eran Hochberg, once good friends, were imprisoned in the same cell.

Berland's attorney: "unnecessary detention"

Police stressed that there is no connection between this investigation and the investigation being conducted against the community leader himself, Rabbi Eliezer Berland, who is currently in Morocco - Crimes Unit Serious and International.

Last week, revealed in B'Chadrei Charedim Corporations Authority document the Ministry of Justice reveals that the organization which belonged to some of the detainees there are serious irregularities and it faces liquidation.

Document sent by the Ministry of Justice Corporations Authority, entitled "denial of proper management approval and notification before breaking down." Serious suspicions retired letter use threats and realize the assets of the unlawful association.

The document noted that the applicants claim Nachman Berland and Eran Hochberg were a number of serious acts within the association.

So far it is not clear if the arrests related to allegations set forth in the document.

Nadav Gedaliah lawyer representing Nachman Berland and his son Nathan, told B'Chadrei Charedim: "This is unnecessary detention. Suspicions of fraud within the organization attributed to Berland the father and son are part of the conflict between the factions known within the community and nothing more.

"This will become later in the investigation, and it’s a shame the police take a side in the conflict between the various factions. Conflict is accompanied by civil court and do not have anything with criminal matters. Detention is also completely unnecessary.
