Lakewood's haredi residents celebrated last Shabbos with a special Seudas Hodaya on occasion of the complete recovery of the one year old baby who fell into the pool last Monday in Florida, and his condition was defined critical. This weekend, after a few days of treatment and hospitalization, the baby came out of danger and was released from the hospital safe and sound.

On Friday the father of the infant was interviewed by the local haredi media, telling the sequence of events: "On Monday at ten am back from Shachris to the residence resort, where we stayed with my wife's parents and her family, we met all the family members in the lobby located on the edge of the pool. My one-year-old played not far away from us, and suddenly my mother-in-law noticed he had disappeared. Then someone shouted that he saw a baby in the pool, and another man jumped into the water with his clothes and pulled the baby from the bottom without breathing and without a pulse. "

"While everyone started running around and calling an ambulance and police, I began to give the baby CPR - while I managed to take out huge amounts of water from his body," says the father. "It was long before the ambulance arrived, and when it arrived – I had managed to return the pulse and breathing to the baby, but his condition was critical and the ambulance team called for a helicopter, which took the child after his condition had stabilized somewhat."

"I was not allowed to join the flight, so I went by vehicle speedly to the intensive care children's ward. The doctors almost didn't give a chance, they argued that even if they could keep him alive he probably suffered brain damage. I Immediately asked my friends in Lakewood to publish in haredi sites and shulls a request to pray for my son."

And when did the improvement start? "On Tuesday the situation was still critical, only towards Wednesday it markedly improved and the baby regained consciousness and was breathing on his own. On Thursday they conducted neurological tests and found that the child's brain was not damaged, we were simply overjoyed," concludes the excited father, noting: "I decided to inform the public about the power of prayer, know that prayer can even resurrect the dead, I saw that with my own eyes."
