A day after being admitted at the Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital in Jerusalem and successful passing surgery for an umbilical hernia in his stomach, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was released home tonight (Sunday).

Before leaving the hospital, all health indices of the Prime Minister were found in order. The prime minister thanked the medical team that accompanied him and the many citizens who greeted him - and said: "Thank you all. I feel very good."

The operation was performed after Netanyahu felt severe pain in the stomach over Shabbos. Following the pain, he was examined by his personal physician Dr. Zvi Berkowitz, and by surgery expert Professor Aryeh Dorset. The initial diagnosis was a hernia. A CT. at the hospital confirmed the concern, and as a result it was decided to perform the surgery during the night.

The operation which was performed at 2:00, took about an hour - and was successful.

The director of the hospital estimated after surgery that it would take several days of recovery for Netanyahu at home during which he could hold meetings, but he will be somewhat limited physically.

Netanyahu's place was filled during the incapacitation time because of the anesthesia which he had, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon. At 11:00 am it was decided to return Netanyahu's powers as prime minister.
