On the corner of Bnei Brith and Hapalmach Streets in Rova 3 in Ashdod a serious car accident occurred: Orthodox couple crossing the road crosswalk near their home, along with a three-month-old son - were hit by a passing vehicle.

Father, an avrech aged 29, injured his head very seriously. He was treated - by the Hatzalah paramedics. Infant son - born after seven years of marriage - was wounded mildly to moderately. They were evacuated by MDA ambulances to Tel Hashomer hospital.

Moshe Weitzman Hatzalah, said: "This man and his infant son were hit by a car while crossing a crosswalk, the father was injured in the head and seriously wounded, the baby who was in the stroller, sustained mild to moderate injuries. This is a Haredi family who are city residents and after primary treatment we gave them at the arena we evacuated the casualties to Tel Hashomer hospital. Miraculously, the mother was not hurt.

Magen David Adom paramedic Adi Danieli driving on the street with a mobile ICU and came about the accident by chance says: "I was on my way with the ambulance for an emergency. On the way, when we noticed a car hit a man and a baby, we stopped there; we called another MICU and immediately began to treat the wounded. On the road lay a man about 30 when he is unconscious with a most difficult head injury and few feet away a baby carriage. The mother held the baby in her arms, when he was fully conscious and crying.

"We gave medical treatment to a man, put him into the mobile intensive care unit and evacuated him to a hospital Tel Hashomer, as he is unconscious, sedated and on a respirator.

" MDA medics and paramedics who arrived with mobile intensive care unit gave the baby health care, put him in intensive care unit with his mother, and took him to the Tel Hashomer hospital when he is in fair condition, fully conscious with bruises, abrasions and mild head injury."

Lachish examiners are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
